Hi Winlars,
I will be using the Citizens Adice Help to claim service when I have to migrate, they should be able to guide you and answer any questions. The number is on the Migration notice, perhaps they would be the best option to help you find your way through the migration.

Hi Winlars
I will try and answer your questions.
1) My deadline for UC migration is 18th July. I have time right? Can I get it done in a hour or two.. one day?
Ans: If you are computer literate and have all the relevant to hand, you can complete the initial application within 30 mins. Just follow the online instructions, you can now save your application as you go, when the online form first came out, you had to complete the form in one sitting.
2) I have a new passport. Do I now have enough ID?
Ans: You’ll need to bring an original of all of the following: www.gov.uk/jobcentre-plus-interview
~ one photo ID
~ one proof of address
~ one further proof of identity
You may have to attend an interview with your work coach, as you have to sign a claimant commitment before your claim goes live.
3) When I migrate, should I also tell the council
Ans: When you apply for UC and sign your claimant commitment, UC will issue a stop notice to DWP departments and LA's, it may be prudent to let your LA know once your claim goes live.
4) When you move from one system to another, ESA/HB/CT to UC. Is there a void in payments
Ans: Yes payment periods vary. ESA is paid every 2 weeks, HB paid every 4 weeks and UC is paid monthly.
In regards to asking for an extension, it depends on certain facts, we would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation.

Hi Winlars
You need to get your timing right when applying for UC which is why we advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation.
When you apply online you can now save as you go along, in the early days you had to complete the application form in one sitting. My advice to you is make sure you have all the documents to hand that they require to make a successful claim and keep a watch on the "to do tab" for instructions..
The remit of this forum is to help claimants with disability claims such as PIP, WCA, DLA and AA.
Queries about UC is outside the remit of the forum but we will try to answer questions where we have knowledge

but i am sick/disabled.. i am in ESA support group migrating ro UC
I will meet the deadline and not ask for extenstion.. my deadline is next week.. i am going to do the form on thursday when i recieve my final ESA payment.. does that make sense? cos now you have me worried again that I have timing wrong?
I understand I can put 'ESA support group' in all health related questions? I don't have to go into any detail about anything health related cos it will be transferred from ESA supoort group to UC? so I dont even need to tell them what i have etc? I can just put 'esa support group?'
this is stressful.. sorry for all questions..
thank you
