UC migration from ESA, massive problems

Hello, thanks in advance for any help that anybody can provide!
I received a migration notice from ESA to UC and completed it online, had an ID interview at job centre which went fine. I today received a notification to check my payments on the UC journal and it's completely wrong! They've made a deduction for a non dependant (daughter aged 25) that they shouldn't have as I receive High rate DLA care and mobility, haven't applied the LCWRA that should have migrated with me from support group ESA, have said I'm still in receipt of ESA (I have a letter from ESA saying my claim has ended with the 2 week run on payment), have not applied any transitional protection and haven't directly paid my council landlord even though I requested this on the journal from the start of the claim. I'm extremely stressed out about all this and don't understand what's gone wrong! I also now have a phone appointment to make new claimant commitments booked for June and when I questioned this on the journal they said it's to chat about my circumstances not commitments? I've called the UC helpline and told them all these problems but I'm absolutely lost as to what's gone wrong and what to do now, as the payment the journal says I should receive is only £365! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated, thank you!

Hi Ajam

The DWP are rushing through 800,000 new ESA to UC Managed Migrations this year. At the DWP reported 5% error rate that leaves 40,000 claimants with the wrong UC.
Unfortunately you are one of these statistics.
In order to get priority for someone to look into your UC you will need to complain to one of the Area Managers. If you tell me your City or County of residence I can locate the correct person.

Dear David, thank you so very much for your reply. I live in the borough of Haringey in London. I spoke to the UC claim line and highlighted all the mistakes that I believe have been made and there's now a note on my journal saying that a case manager will look at my claim and respond by 6pm tomorrow, so hopefully they can fix whatever has gone wrong! I just don't understand how a 'managed' migration has gone so completely wrong, I'm terminally ill with cancer (longer than 12 months life expectancy though), and having to deal with this is extremely stressful.

Hi Ajam

Yours is the sort of situation that would fit the criterion for an escalated complaint. So let me know if the issue is not resolved in a couple of days.

Hi, I'm sorry to be back again but nothing has been sorted out yet!

This morning there was a note on the journal asking me to upload the ESA letter stating that they'd received my UC claim and my payments had ended, which I did. My commitments review was then brought forward to this Saturday with 'Med' which I assumed to be medical (?), which when I queried why was changed back to the original date in June with a different person's name. A case manager was supposed to contact me by 6pm today to explain about why deductions were wrongly made and no LCWRA was added, but this didn't happen. The payments page still states the wrong calculations.

I've left a note on the journal asking why the case manager hasn't been in contact, but I'm rapidly losing hope that any explanation will be forthcoming. It appears that nobody replies to journal entries, most of mine have been ignored.

What to do now? Wait and see if someone gets in contact? I understand how busy they must be, but I'm extremely stressed out at this point!

Hi Ajam

I would complain to the Area Manager for North London who is Barbara Billings and her email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I would give a full description of the stress and inconvenience the errors have caused you.

Let me know how you get on.
