It's quite variable across the country, the average is probably still about 7 weeks, but the extremes are around 2-3 weeks at one end and 13-14 weeks at the other.

The transfer of IB, IS due to Incapacity, and SDA claimants has undoubtedly slowed the process down, as has the associated increase in appeals. However, these are all just statistics, there is simply no way to predict what will happen with an individual claim.

According to the DWP, the ESA50 should be sent about two week after the phone call, but if you are worried there is no harm in you contacting ATOS to find out whether it has been sent yet, I believe the ATOS number is 0113 230 9175.
