ESA copy of assessment request

I had my assessment almost two weeks ago and have not received a decision yet, yeds I know that it's early days yet.
I want to be prepared for any appeal which I may have to attend and would like a copy of the assessment.
I have phoned DWP today to request a copy of the medical assessment and the 'person' at DWP said that I had to contact Atos, is this correct.
I insisted that I tought that DWP should provide the report for me.
The 'person' at DWP said that she would email the claims dept at DWP and that I would get a call back today, I haven't had the call back!
Who do I get the report from please
Thanks xx

It can often take a couple of weeks for your file to be returned from ATOS to the DWP office dealing with your claim, also, the DWP do not usually release a claimants medical report until a Decision has been made on the claim.
I am afraid you will have to wait a little longer.

You would assume that the people at DWP could answer my basic questions though wouldn't you.
Thanks again xx

After requesting a copy of my medical ESA85 assessment from DWP last friday, I have today received a copy of the report which I requested.
Of course there are some discrepencies (even though it was recorded) but on the whole it reads quite true.
So it appears that you CAN request and receive a copy before a decision is made.
Also further to a call to DWP today a very 'informed young man' was very helpfull.
He was able to give me an idea when I should be receiving the decision from the decision maker. Apparently in my part of South Yorkshire there is quite a backlog and decisions are taking 16 wks, roughly.
He mentioned how much I would be paid because I was 'more than likely' be put in the support group (but he couldn't divulge too much'
Will keep you updated.

If he said that, then he certainly said too muchHe mentioned how much I would be paid because I was 'more than likely' be put in the support group (but he couldn't divulge too much'

If no Decision has been made on your claim, then he was in no position to tell you anything about what payments you would be getting.

Hi lb,
I feel that you have been lucky in receiving your ESA85 Medical Report, before receiving a decision from the DWP DM.
I really don't understand how the guy you spoke to on the phone can possibly suggest that you "are more than likely to be put into the SG".
The decision to award you ESA or not, in any group, is solely at the discretion of the DWP DM, and no one else.
It is highly unlikely that this guy on the phone had access to your ESA55 file.
Further, if you have copy of the ESA85, this should give you some idea what recommendations the ATOS HCP has made to the DM, regarding your prognosis, and which group of ESA you may qualify for.
I do hope that you manage to qualify for the Support Group,

Good Luck.
