IB TO ESA

Received letter yesterday "your benefit is changing to ESA from the 4th September. They have put my husband into the WRAG.
It also states he may be required t attend a WFHRA with atos.
The payments are from the 4th September to the 26th November 2012, what happens after that?
Will he be made to apply for jobs when he attends the WFI's?
regards

Hi s65,
Work Focussed Health Related Assessments, (WFHRA) where suspended for two years from July 2010.
As far as I am aware, they have not yet been reinstated.
The date of November 2012 on your ESA award letter is seen on most claimants letters, and is not the date when the ESA WRAG award will be re-assessed.
Apparently it is only used for DWP administration purposes, and is not relevant to the length of the ESA award.
To find out the expected length of the WRAG award and when it will be reviewed, you should request the ESA85 if a face to face "medical" took place, or an ESA 85A if one didn't. See :
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

As your husband has been awarded ESA in the WRAG,this may be of interest. :

He will be required to take part in Work Focussed Interviews, (WFI's), see :

He can not be compelled to seek or take up employment though.
If your husband feels that he should qualify for entry to the Support Group of ESA he can appeal within one month, see :

Crikey bro, how long did that take you to post?!
Hi MHB,
Copy and paste anyone ?

The last part of the post is a greeting to new members which I have stored on a Word Doc.
I will often use this for new members, and also try and answer their particular initial query.
If they mark it as a favourite, it gives them quick access to all the guides, which may be helpful if they are not used to navigating around the site.
Cheers.
