IB TO ESA

There seems to be some confusion here, a claimant can not be in receipt of Carers Allowance, and The Carers Premium, it is one or the other.

hi bro58
esa claimants that means my husband? CA is in my name because hubby on middle rate care, so he would not be exempt on that? Carers premium is that paid to me or my hubby, i don't know, if its my husband that would make him exempt?
Really sorry to sound thick.
regards
If your hubby is the ESA claimant and recipient, he must be the one GIVING the care, not RECEIVING the care, to be exempt from WFI's WRA.

Yes s65,

It sounds like your husband is in receipt of the Carer Premium, for you, providing care for him.
In that case, he will not be exempt from WFI's, as he receives the care from you, he does not give care to someone else.
However, please be aware that you can request that WFI's are carried out over the phone, or even in your home.
They can even be deferred, however none of these options are mandatory and are totally at the discretion of The JCP Adviser.
If hubby does have to attend WFI's you can attend with him as his carer, in fact, he can be accompanied by anyone that he may choose.
