Hi

I have recently been put into the support group from WRAG, after sending my GL24 it was reconsidered by a (Appeals officer)? what if any is the diffrence from appeals officer and a Decision maker? I thought it was passed to a decision maker? this was 4 weeks ago i got the good news from the (appeals officer)he or she said they had informed my local DWP office of the new decision. I am still to hear from my local DWP office? how long would this take roughly?

Thankyou

Like you, I was under the impression that the reconsideration would be carried out by another Decision Maker. Perhaps they give themselves a fancy title!

It us taking upwards of 8 weeks for a new decision to be acted on after Tribunal. I would expect it to be quicker after recon as it is already in the hands of DWP

Hi MHB,

You are correct the reconsideration will be carried out by a DWP DM.

It will be a different one to the DM that made the original adverse decision, and probably more senior.

Maybe a more apt title to an "Appeals Officer" which is a new one on me, would be an "Appeals Prevention Officer"

As you know, The Appeals Tribunal Service" are totally independant of The DWP, and come under the umbrella of The Ministry of Justice.

Oh !!! I've just remembered, who has just been put in charge of The Ministry of Justice, none other than our old friend Chris Grayling.

Indeed. If I were a cynic I might think there was a reason behind this...

I'll have to lock this thread in a minute for turning it in to a discussion.

I am naughty sometimes.
