ME 51 wrote: I wonder if anyone could please advise me with a further problem I have re my ESA 50 form and descriptors. I have stated that I very rarely go out other than a Doctor/Hospital or Mental heath appointment.
Last year I had 6mths of one to one sessions with a Psychologist. I have now been offered 18mths Group Therapy which to be honest I'm really anxious about:( I had one assessment and explained my problems (with people I don't know) so I was told to come back for a 2nd assessment.. Although I don't want to go to this group I'm wondering will this count against me in my Medical Assessment as in not helping myself??
Thank you
Whilst there are now circumstances where ATOS and the DWP can now make assumptions in regard to treatment, these are very limited (Exceptional Circumstances Reg. 29), and do not apply to your circumstances, so I would not worry about it.

I wanted to let people know that it is possible to pass the "medical" with ME and to try and not let it affect your health as it has mine these past 3 mths. BTW.. I used "it varies" a few times re "ME" and explained why it varies

I don't know how long before the next assessment but at least for the next 3 mths I can have some much needed peace from the stress which in turn will help my health hopefully

Could someone please advise me how and where I'd get a copy of my "medical" details? Is it a ESA85A or a SARS I need to request?
Once again.. Thank You B+W!!! you gave good sound advice to a very anxious tired 55 yr old

ME 51 wrote: Update! Firstly..I would like to thank B+W for all the help and advice they have given me...
After 7 weeks of anxiety and waiting for the postman
I finally got a letter to say that I have been moved on reassessment (no medical) from the wrag group to the support group!!!
I can't believe it as I have ME/CPS and depression/anxiety and I know how difficult it has been in the past with Atos to receive enough points with these conditions

Hi ME 51,
I am really pleased to hear of your good news

Thanks for the very kind comments regarding B&W.
You can ring up the number on any ESA letters that you have and request the ESA85A verbally.
If you want to be sure, and gain written confirmation, you can use a SAR.
The only thing is, even though the ESA85A will be useful, as you have had a successful reconsideration, there is no guarantee that the reviewing DM has stayed with the original prognosis.
There will also be an LT54 which may include the prognosis. However, to be sure you should particularly request the length of the prognosis for the SG award.
See :
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?
ESA Forms
SAR :
www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf
From this page :
www.dwp.gov.uk/privacy-policy/data-protection/
See also :
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
The longest prognosis is 3 years.
