On the SAR form it says take or send it to your nearest DWP office, I did intend to send it to the office that sent me the ESA outcome as it was this office that is dealing with it and the one I phoned yesterday.

So would it matter if I sent it to the address on the letter or the local one, I would sooner send it to the people I spoke to yesterday as they claimed to have been putting it in the system.

Thanks

It should not make a difference, but I would be tempted to send it to your local office as they should have your files.

Do not forget that they 40 calendar days to respond.

Quick update, submitted my appeal the GL24 and although not required at this time sent some extra information with it for the DM to maybe look at, if not can just be used in the appeal.

Got my ESA85 today, all 1 and half sheets of it. Surprised when reading it reminded me of that show Little Britain "the computer says no" but the nurse who did the assessment based on my ESA50 did actually manage to type "58 words" and disagree with a SG descriptor despite providing evidence that I have actually had severe musculo-skeletal problems for over 20 years which my GP backed.

I feel quite honoured to have been assessed a day after the forms where received by a Registered Nurse who is an approved disability analyst.

Split this into two as I know you don't like long posts. As I said got my ESA85 today, have looked up one term but still confused. The advice/prognosis was as follows:

1. Advice: I meet the criteria for WRAG:
2. Prognosis: I advise that work is unlikely in the long term.

Seems odd that I am fit for WRAG, especially as I got a second letter today for my WFI next Wednesday with view into getting me back into work when the prognosis is I am unlikely to work in the long term, again backed by my doctor.

In the ESA85 the "nurse" says I have no severely restricted musculo-skeletal function yet in her "58 word" essay claims I have significant disability to everything apart from my head which I think they are working on.

Last quick question as last time I had to supply anything was still called a sick note. It says the evidence was based on my ESA50, Med 3 and letter from my GP.

Can they write to my doctor and get a Med 3?

The reason I asked is that I have never had a Med 3 or supplied one and from what I gather this is the new "Fit Note" which you get from your doctor? If this is the case then they are claiming I supplied documents which I didn't.

The government encourages people to think of the WRAG as a short term group and the Support Group as long term, the reality is that the time to any recovery you might make is not part of the assessment or the qualification criteria for either group. So it is perfectly possible for someone who rides their mountain bike into a tree and breaks both arms to be placed in the SG for three months until the casts are off and someone with MS to be repeatedly placed in the WRAG for two years.

For the WRAG, "in the long term" usually means two years, you can confirm this by contacting the DWP.

The ESA85 is comprised of input from the ATOS assessor and phrases produced by the LiMa software as a result of the assessor choosing particular options as the interview progresses, they ought to spend some time making ensuring that it makes sense, but they do not.

We often see a Med-3 quoted as evidence on the ESA85, we think it is generated by the LiMa software which is unable to distinguish between a new claim for ESA, which requires a Fit Note (Med-3) and a transfer or re-assessment, which does not, so the chances are that it does not exist.
