Hi
welshlass I sent a threatening letter through the ICO and received my information within 14 days.
When I received my Info, there was a email adress on the letter, and I sent them another SAR through the email for other Info and Queries

Hi
Don't know if you have come accross this one before or not. Having requested my GP records as evidence for my appeal, I collected them today. Over 800 pages (28 years since diagnosis)! How can I possibly copy and send these to office dealing with my appeal. I am still waiting for a quote for the cost of my hospital records, but they are likely to be about the same amount of paper, if not more plus x-rays.
Has anyone been through this and can offer a solution. As the DWP based their decision on my ESA form and copy of prescription repeat it is down to me to obtain the evidence. Sinking slowely under paper :(

Hi wl,

It would be advisable to try and sift out any relevant extracts from your G.P. records, as much of the records will be run of the mill, and may not therefore be pertinent to your limitations with regards to your appeal.

This would be to your benefit, as you can then highlight and draw reference to any particular test results, letters, increases in meds, etc, etc, that will help to show that you suffer from your stated medical conditions and resulting limitations.

If you rely on someone else sifting out any relevant extracts, important evidence may be missed.

I ended up using around 50 pages from nearly 40 years of G.P. records, which bore resemblance to a publication of "War and Peace"

Luckily, it was all on a CD, so I just reviewed the files and printed off what I needed.

Good luck with that, wl, :)

It would help if you highlight any relevant extracts, number all pages, and put your Name, NI Number and DOB on every page.

You could then write up an index, of what each highlighted extract/page refers to.

The easier you make the information to find, the better, and the more chance you have of being successful.

If you have more than one relevant condition, it might help to sue a different colour highlighter for each condition. However, when using highlighters, please think about how well it will photocopy as some of the darker colours obliterate the text when photocopied!
