Reconsideration..... was created by archie0123
had my work focused interview last Friday morning. Sat down, was asked a few questions about myself (name, address etc and a brief background about my problems). The interviewer proceeded at ask me why I had not appealed to be put into the support group. She said I needed to ring and be asked for 'reconsideration of WRAG classification into Support Group', gave me a telephone number to call etc. She said I needed to get as much as help as possible from my doctor etc, CAB to fill out forms....... She said who ever had made the decision at my appeal had not looked at me and my situation properely and should be in the support group as I am not employable. She said there are in depth notes made at my previous job centre interview around 6 years ago, which state the same.

I rang the ESA number given this morning and was made to feel horrid :(, the lady that rang me back a little later was a bit kinder. I know have to approach my doctor, counsellor etc for supporting evidence to submit for my application for reconsideration.

Has anyone PLEASE got any pointers to help. I am at the end of a very short tether and I really cant cope with this anymore.

We recommend that claimants appeal rather than ask for a Reconsideration, if you appeal a Reconsideration will be done anyway and if the Decision remains unchanged then you may save several weeks or even months in the process.

Have a look at the following for more information

looking at the information you have supplied you have to appeal within a month, my tribunal was 15/4/2013, so that rules that one out. Is it normal for the job centre interviewer to say straight away that you should appeal??

You can still make a late appeal, the DWP usually accept them for ESA, this is covered in the links I posted.

Please will you confirm how the decision was made to place you in the WRAG? You mentioned a tribunal - if this was indeed an appeal tribunal then you have an absolute limit of 1 month to request a 'Statement of Reasons' and could only take the issue further if you could show that there had been an 'Error in Law', which would need specialised advice.
