The transfer process from pre-ESA benefits is scheduled to conclude in March 2014. Two queries:

1) Assuming the DWP are not behind in processing claimants what is the latest date a person currently would be informed that their transfer is underway?
2) Is the DWP/ ATOS coalition working to schedule or is the transfer process running late?

Hi MW,

To answer both questions, there will be no latest date, as they have to migrate all applicable claimants over to ESA.

From reports and information gleaned they are behind with their schedule to have all IB, IS and SDA recipients migrated over to ESA by Spring 2014.

The target was to complete the transfer by March 2014, my impression, and I have to stress that it is just an impression as I have not seen any factual reports, is that it is running behind, this is based on the "choke" points in the process, the ATOS assessment and the DWP Decision Makers, where there have been significant delays and while extra resources have been provided, there are still delays.

I do not think that we can provide a "latest date", as it would require a cut-off date in the process which does not exist, all claimants that met the original selection criteria will be transferred, whether this is before March 2014 or after.

Hi MW,

Yes, I would say so, their "production line" style of assessment is not moving along as fast as they would like.

They projected 11,000 migration reassessments/week, this is as well as normal reassessments of current ESA recipients, and fresh ESA claims.
