As you say though, it is done now and all you can do now is wait ...

DWP accepted the rapid reclaim. however, as I started a job and worked for 9 days and was eligible for tax credits, my tax credits run for 28 days from employment end date. During this time I am showing as "nil award" for ESA due to the tax credit being classed as income. This is fine, however, during this time, am I still eligible for free prescriptions and will I still be receiving NI contributions? Also, for the 9 days when I was working I did not pay any NI contributions and was not eligible for ESA, so does this mean that my whole years NI contributions will be wasted because of these 9 days?
Thanks,

You will have to talk to the DWP, if your entitled to ESA but not receiving payment then the prescriptions should be covered, however, if your ESA claim has been deferred while the Tax Credits are in payment then you probably are not. Basically it will boil down to you having a letter from the DWP that say you are entitled to ESA(IR) from date.
As you were previously in the Support Group before stopping your claim for this short period of work, you would not received NI Contributions instead you are paid NI Credits which only in part count towards a new claim for ESA(CB).
However, this is only part of the equation, as you are linking to your previous claim, if that was ESA(CB) then you should be entitled to ESA(CB) again, if it was not then your re-claim will not be either (e.g. ESA(IR)).

Anyway, it seems the team that deals with the emails is completely separate to the people that make the decisions about calling people for assessments, so no one on this forum should have any fear about contacting them to see how things are progressing.

Anyway, I am still curious as to why I have had to provide a medical certificate (sick note) when this is a rapid reclaim. I will have to ask my doctor for another one when this one expires if they have not made a decision. Do I have grounds to argue I should not have to provide one. It's just that when my current one expires I expect to be away for Christmas.

I am only guessing but the ESA payment system will not release payments unless all of the requirements for a claim are correct, it could be that the system needs a valid Fit Note to be recorded on the system for it to pay you, of course, it could also be DWP incompetence, but if they are asking for one the simplest thing is to provide it.
