Actually, it doesn't work like that, because for several years my payment was cleared and available on Sunday afternoons at about 13:00, then it changed to being available several hours later, but still on a Sunday and stayed like that for a couple of years, before changing recently to the very early hours of Monday morning. As far as banks are concerned Sundays don't exist and I'm not sure if Saturdays exist either.

IB was/is paid a day early, which is why you received it on a Sunday.

Zybyszek

My state pension is due on Monday but it always shows on online banking on the previous Friday. This is common practice with many benefits. The same happens with my DLA.

It's the way that the DWP works paying benefits through the Banks Automated Credit System (BACS)

As other moderators have stated, it cannot be changed, neither can your N.I. number, you have the same one all your life.

I don't think moderators can comment further, and the payment day and N.I. number are not really within our remit, therefore I'm locking this post.
