Unfortunately many GPs believe that the DWP or ATOS will write to them for additional information about a claimant, statistically this only occurs in about 25% of claims and most often when a Support Group award is being considered, another interesting fact is that only 25% of GP's actually bother to reply to a request from the DWP, even though they are contracted to do so and get paid for the report!
