Pip and 50% car tax discount 2 months 2 weeks ago #248111

Hello I am currently receiving standard mobility which expired 25th April , I returned my forms November and had a text 9th January to say they’ve received my forms back but I haven’t heard anything else from them.
I have tried to phone before the lockdown and after been on hold for a couple of hours at a time and getting cut off , I have since tried since the lockdown and I’ve got an answer machine message saying all payments will continue until claims are sorted.
Now my problem is I have got and tax my car for the first time on Tuesday ( long story I’ve had the car ages and my ex has signed it over to me ), I have paid the tax in full online but when I’ve looked to claim the 50% off you need to sent a letter which I haven’t got because it’s expired but Would my bank statement this month showing I’m still receiving pip be enough I’ve tried phoning dvla and they are only answering calls for key workers and hgv drivers etc ?
Thanks kerry

Hi Kerry06

Unfortunately your bank statement does not give a breakdown as to which components of PIP you are claiming, you can contact DWP and ask for a breakdown of your entitlement to be sent to you.

[You can apply up to a year until the next tax year, last year it was several months before i claimed 50% discount due to health issues and still was awarded

best wishes
