Re todays webinar 2 months 1 week ago #248238

Hi guys, thanks for the webinar, bit disappointed you didn't reopen the chat panel for questions at the end, I wanted to ask :
as I have chronic ME with cognitive problems, & I was told I needed a Face to face reassessment before CV19, & I have been locked down on my own since beginning of March and will continue to be ongoing for the foreseeable, if I am offered a telephone assessment while still isolating, so I can't have anyone here to help me, can I postpone or ask for a written decision instead ?
thanks Gemma

Gemma,

As far as I'm aware they are only doing telephone assessments for new applications currently, though of course that could change.

My partner had a phone assessment a few weeks back we were having a bit of trouble with the lines and we were discussing how if using speaker didn't work what other methods there were. The assessor said they are able to make conference calls if there is need. She actually mentioned the type of situation you are in with the usual companion for the assessment not being able to be present with the person due to shielding, isolation or lockdown.

If and when you are offered a telephone appointment speak with the assessment centre and request a conference call.
I seem to remember there being advice somewhere about how it would be a good idea to try to find how to set up a conference call yourself in case the assessor had technical issues or had not had the information passed on but I can't remember where that was.

Good luck with it all.
