hello i have helped my uncle fill in the pip form, and sent it off, i think now looking back i have ticked the wrong box regarding mixing with other people, he does not interact with anyone but close family, so the discriptor do you find it difficult to mix with other people because of severe anxiety i ticked the yes box, then i gave it more thought and because he does only interact with close family i then changed it to the no box, simply because he does not mix with anyone else at all,I have explained in the information box how his anxiety effects him and also in the going out box. Is he unlikely to score any points with this discriptor now, and would it be worthwhile writing to the assessor to explain this.or best to just wait and see. Thanks

If you are referring to
Q11b Do you find it difficult to mix with other people because of severe anxiety or distress?
if you answered "no" to this then you have said that he has no problems, however, this should be correctable.
Write a short letter explaining what has happened and explain what it should have been and why. Send a copy to the DWP office dealing with his claim and to the Assessment Provider as soon as you have an address, also, take a copy to the assessment and give it to the assessor and ask them to read it before they start the interview and include it in his file.

thanks for your reply, i dont think it was Q11b Do you find it difficult to mix with other people because of severe anxiety or distress i ticked yes to that question, it was the question above it that i ticked no to. Do you need another person to help you mix with other people, because he only interacts with his family My question is should i write to try and change it or is ot ok thanks

11a is about whether the claimant needs Social Support have a look at the guide to see what this means and whether your uncle needs it.

i ticked no because he only interacts with his family he does not go out to socialise he does not go to partys or wedding, he would need help if he did go to social occasions, so i am still a little confused as to wether no or yes is the correct answer. thanks for your patience.

It's not what he doesn't do but what he cannot do that counts.
