SSCS1 Section 5 Basic/Detailed Grounds of Appeal was created by Manuka
I would rather submit a detailed grounds of appeal but I don't have the ATOS report etc and I'm still trying to digest all the guides and build my case, but time is running out.
If I submit a basic appeal will this be my only opportunity to make our case in writing? My dad will not be able to effectively make his case verbally at the hearing.
I feel there are numerous problems with the DWPs case and the assessment, I don't want to lose the ability to bring them up and clarify them on paper in detail because I've had to make my case in a more basic way.

The PIP Submissions guide has a complete SSCS1 that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
