Gordon,
Thanks for your advice some months back. Can you review the information you gave me and let me know if, now that more is known about UC, whether you know any more about intentions for ESA(IR AND CB) to roll onto UC.
I've always been on ESA (IR) but somehow in recent years they changed me over to (CB) - can't remeber why but think I got a letter telling me they had. When I checked out the information you gave me in earlier post here, the DWP categorically stated on the phone and the CAB said the same, that ESA(CB) is not due to roll onto UC at all at the moment. (This advice is about 2-3 months old). They could not tell me any more only that because my ESA wasn't Income Related I wasn't affected. I was also told that if I did move house at this point from my area (full rollout) to Bristol (full rollout) that because I wouldn't have to make a new ESA claim that I wouldn't be put onto UC. I also checked whether having to put in a new Housing/Council Tax benefit claim would be the thing that triggered my transfer to UC, but they said no it wouldn't and I got them to check their facts (both DWP, CAB and local authorities). Just wanted to share this experience in case it's helpful.
I haven't phoned up recently to check this and because it's common to get lots of different answers from them depending on who you get on the phone, I'll be checking on this from time to time to try and give myself time to plan if I need to. Do you have anything to add to this pertaining to recent situations. I realise you can only advise me from an ESA point of view... but I'm still really asking whether you know any more about ESA(CB) being due to change.
