Hi -
After a very long wait, my tribunal for PIP is next Thursday. The CAB have been real gems in this process and I cannot recommend getting help from them enough. They wrote a statement to the tribunal which clearly showed some of the daily struggles I have, especially since I have a double whammy of bipolar and severe deafness. The DWP's response to the tribunal was that they could not take into account what I can or cannot hear once the aids are not it (i.e. showers/sleeping time/ear infections). SO they think not being able to hear a fire alarm going off or someone calling out for help is not a need. I also noticed they lay so much emphasis on the HP report that they don't even consider evidence such as audiograms. Does anyone have any tips for me for next week as I am getting increasingly nervous as the days get closer.

You might want to have a look at the following video, it was made by the Ministry of Justice and is an ESA appeal so there will be some difference, for example there are three members to a PIP panel, but it will give you some idea of what happens.

II would familiarise yourself with the contents of your submission, but beyond that, just try an relax. For my first appeal I spent the two days before, working out a master plan of how I was going to convince the panel of how I met the criteria, it lasted about two minutes and I wish I had spent the time watching a good film.
