Recent articles concerning DWP errors for claimants from IS to ESA
do not clearly say was the errors were. Could someone please explain in simple
language what the errors were. Please note, I have suffer serious cognitive issues,
and would appreciate if the reply is very basic and simple. Thank you for you input.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

As far as we are aware the error only effects claimants who were transferred from Incapacity Benefit to ESA, those who were transferred from Income Support due to Incapacity should not have been effected.

Gordon: Whats the difference between Income Support and Incapacity Benefits? I can't remember which one I was one before being transferred on to ESA. Thank you.

Incapacity Benefit was paid to claimants to ill to work who had worked previously and who met the Contribution Conditions for payment. If you were on IB then you would have been transferred to Contribution Based ESA.
Income Support is paid for a variety of reasons, claimants unable to work due to illness who did not have sufficient NI Contributions for IB and had low income could claim IS Due to Incapacity. IS claimants would have been transferred to Income Related ESA.
The under payment only effect claimants moved to ESA(CB) and not all of them will have been effected.
