Hi all. Just a quick question, I heard about the DWP massive error when transferring people from IB to ESA. So my query is,that I have been on incapacity benefit then latterly ESA ,since 2006 without any break! I was receiving £110 per week when on IB and on the income related band. So when I was transferred I never received an assessment, but put straight on ESA. It wasn't until I checked my bank account to see that I was now receiving £102 per week!? I just excepted it,because I never new anything about the DWA's planes of the changeover. I year later I noticed that my ESA payment was not being paid,so I spoke to a lady in my local job centre and she told me my entitlement had ended and that I had to reapply for income based ESA,as the contributions band had ended,so does anyone have an idea if it sounds if i was one of the people that were put on the wrong band of ESA, as I should have remained on the £110 a week until the level of ESA catches up. It works out all the people affected are loosing £8 a week for 2 or 3 years!! Thanks in advance for your time.
Your post suggest that you were transferred from IB to the ESA WRAG.
To have been underpaid you would have needed to be in receipt of DLA Higher Rate Care or living alone or considered to be living alone with a DLA award of Medium or Higher Rate Care.
