Has anyone had experience of challenging an overpayment of carers allowance, accrued when the person cared for was in hospital for several weeks? There are mitigating circumstances . Trying to help a friend out.
It would have to be more than several weeks, the CA would not stop being paid until the caree had been in hospital for four weeks.
The process is no different than from challenging any Decision, first you must request an MR and if that fails to revise the Decision then you can go onto appeal.
