Thanks for sending the information I now understand what you were referring, I even have a vague memory of it from several years ago.
So to confirm, if a claimant is receiving money from remunerative employment then they cannot receive any SMI payments or the equivalent and would have to wait 39 weeks from when the income stopped, before they could re-apply.

That seems to be the gist of it (from the information that I've been given) Gordon. I had hoped that it wouldn't be accurate, as it will be a shock to someone already doing Permitted Work if they were to be transferred to UC without being aware of it. I would be interested to know what happens to someone in receipt Housing Benefit...?

The calculations for HB already take into account the claimants earnings.
