what % of PIP MR change decision? was created by Mary
Hi
Is there any feel for how often a mandatory review results in a increased points award? Also, how high is the risk of an existing award being revised downwards?

I have been awarded the maxmimum mobility for the planning a journey section. I was awarded 0 point for mobility though as my condition varies in that sometimes I am unable to get out of bed. Othertimes, however, the exertion of moving would make me ill, so I cannot do it. the moving around section is the one that allows us to claim a blue badge which would open up my small life considerably.

Presumably if I ask them to reconsider the movement aspects of mobility, they could re-look at the 12 points I have been given for planning journeys and remove those?

I also believe I should have been awarded more points in daily living (I scored 7) and will be asking for a review of that section. Does asking for a review of daily living mean that they will also review the mobility section?

this is so tricky. I am delighted to get the mobility enhanced rate and disappointed not to be able to apply for a blue badge.

I am disappointed not to get any daily living and thought this was the more obvious of my disabilities to assess.

The DWP claim a revision rate of 20% but we don't see anything like this on the forum, my best guess is that the rate we see is no more than 10%.

Even though you may ask the DWP to look at only one component, the DWP will look at both. It is rare for a claimant to lose points but it does happen and it is a risk that you need to consider.

You can make a Blue Badge application directly to your Local Authority.

If you want to challenge the Decision then I think you need to be prepared to take it to appeal if necessary.
