I'm currently going through divorce and it's at the stage where we are trying to agree a financial settlement.
My problem is that I currently receive a lot of benefits, which of course, are all subject to change/review in the next 1-2 years.
I currently receive WTC, Carers Allowance and DLA which all adds up to a very generous amount and meets my 'income needs'
However, once I am transferred to Universal Credit and reassessed for PIP, the 'Entitled To' calculations tell a very different story.
I am trying to factor this into the divorce settlement, but all I'm hearing from my ex and his solicitor is that my HUGE reduction in benefits is purely speculative.
Does anyone else have experience of this and/or know how best to present it in divorce proceedings?
I'm sorry but this is not something that we can help you with! We do not deal with Tax Credits on the forum, your Carers Allowance is dependant on the benefits of the person you are caring for and what happens with your DLA is totally dependant on how well you are able to complete the PIP activities.
