Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
So from your post one of your benefits is being reassessed, have you previously received an ESA50 to complete or an invitation to claim PIP?
On the assumption that it is your ESA that is being reassessed, as you do not mention any other processes, then the second appointment is because certain disabilities require a doctor to carry out the assessment.
Our ESA Claim guide have a section that covers the assessment process and the questions you are likely to be asked.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help,.

However, I think that it is unenesscary to put us through this level of anxiety when I turn sixty five in March, thanks once again Gordon it will soon be Tuesday morning.
Unfortunately the reassessment is based on when the ESA50 was sent when you had the best part of a year until retirement, I'll not be drawn into a discussion on how reasonable that is

The bottom line is that you have to attend or you risk your ESA being stopped for the few weeks that it is still due.
That said there is still one option available to you, if this is the appointment that you have been sent then you have the option of moving it. I would wait until a day or two before and then contact CHDA to move the appointment, I would do so by phone so that you can move it as far back as possible. You don't say when in March you retire but if it is early March then it may be possible to push it back past his date, even if you cannot it may be close enough that you are not bothered about any lost ESA by your not attending. Of course I have not suggested this.

Patrick wrote: Hello again Gordon, I am afraid to say that my appointment is at 09.00 am tomorrow, No chance of cancelling, if the decision goes against me is it likely to affect my DLA payments? Thanks for your help I am most grateful. Patrick
Providing you can contact them before you leave then it is still an option.
DLA and ESA don't really share any criteria so I would not expect a negative ESA assessment to have any impact on your DLA claim, although you will at some time being invited to claim PIP.
