Please does any one know, I understand you only get ESA up to retirement age( 5th April )but I do not start getting my pension until September, what happens between these dates. Thank you

There should be no gap between the two, your ESA should end the day before your State Pension starts.
Why do you think that you reach retirement age in April but you pension will not start until September? Have you checked the State Retirement Age calculator?
