DLA to PIP question. was created by Allison Allford
My husband receieved a date for his f2f appointment, I rang and requested a home visit, Friday 2nd Feb. Today we receieved a letter to say he will get a home assessment and they will let us know when an appointment becomes available. I am surprised they gave him a home visit without having to fight for it. 1) Do you know of any delays in receiving a home visit for the teesside area? 2) His DLA runs out mid March, will it stop, or do they pay it until they have made a decision on his PIP? What if we have to wait months beofore a home visit is available?

We don't have regional information but most areas will have delays for home assessments simply because the Assessment Providers do not have enough assessors to cover the requirement.

The DLA claim will be extended, probably mid February if necessary, the law requires the DLA claim to remain in payment for four weeks after a Decision on the PIP Claim is made.

Thank you Gordon, much appreciated. Just to confirm, we will keep his DLA paymnet until after a PIP decision has been made? His DLA is due to end mid March 2018.

My confusion came from the fact I had already stated his DLA is due to stop mid MARCH, and therefore wondered why you had put mid February. I appreciate your knowledge but not your intonation of exclamation marks. It is not condusive in a forum where people are asking questions to gain knowledge, they don't need to be made to feel worse for asking.

I'm sorry, if you had asked about why I said February then I would have explained, but you didn't, you asked about something that I had clearly already provided an answer to.
