Hi can anyone help me please ? was created by sarah
I have been in support group for several years now without the need for a face to face assessment, however I filled out my ESA50 form in November and I have been told I need to have one on the 26 Feb. I telephoned the health care people and apparently it was because they didn't get a reply back from GP. I am extremely worried as the doctors at the surgery have all left and as far as I'm aware it is locum doctors covering until new doctors can be found. How do I get the medical evidence I need.
Many Thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

All you can do is speak to the GPs at your practice to see what support they are able and willing to provide.

Hi Sarah just to add did you send any medical, functional evidence from any other healthcare people you see with your ESA50 or was you just relying on a GP report or did you just returned the ESA50 back? If the latter that's why I reckon you've got a f2f. Maybe wrong.
Many Drs forget and sometimes don't even know they've had the form sent to them. My advice I when dealing with the DWP is get all you own evidence and send it in.

Thank you for your reply I did just send the ESA50 form back as this is all I have ever had to do,
I just assumed the benefits people contacted your health professionals. I am seeing psychologist on Monday so will ask him if he can help as we don't have a GP at the moment due to them ending their contract with NHS at the end of December, so it is just Locums at the moment.

Hi Sarah
I would make an appointment with my GP if possible. Politely ask for a supportive report for ESA.And be clear and concise if possible.
Short, stating illnesses, diagnosis, prognosis, how long they have treated you, symptoms. Then pick out what Descriptors you cannot do.
Whether walking is impossible etc safely, to a certain standard, as often as you need to and possible in a reasonable time.
Mental health and cognitive functions.

So sorry, I thought I had replied to your advice, I did only send in the ESA 50 form as this is what I have always done in the past, I just assumed the Benefits Department got in touch with my doctor, psychiatrist etc. It seems they did contact my GP surgery but because the doctors have since left no one filled out the necessary form requiring my medical evidence, and they don't contact anyone else. I am going to see Psychologist on Monday so will ask him if he can help.
Many Thanks for taking time to reply.
