Just recieved the changeover form to PIP was created by Drinthehouse
I currently have a "lifetime award" for DLA at the higher rate for both mobility and daily living, and have just received a letter inviting me to apply for PIP. Which has given me around four weeks to call asking for the form. Is it better to do this right away, or wait until the time is almost up. How long does it take to receive the form. If I need to have an assessment, how long will it take to receive results? I am 69 in June of this year.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It's up to you when you make the call, you need to balance the stress of knowing that you need to make it against the extra time that you might gain to collect evidence and prepare for the form.
The PIP2 usually takes 7-10 days to arrive, if you need it there is a two week extension available.
Once you have had an assessment the Decision should only be 2-4 weeks.

You will have four weeks although this includes postage, however, a two week extension is available if you need it, the guide explains this.
