Work Coach Appointment was created by stingersplash
Hi,
I recently mentioned getting a letter about a Work Coach Appointment and once my renewal of ESA in WRAG was confirmed i called to ask about the appointment, if i could do phone appointment and enquire about being reimbursed for a taxi as i can't use public transport.
The woman seemed to know little of my situation and was determined i go in person and take a bus as they don't usually accept taxis as its too expensive.
She kept talking about how at my assessment i was deemed as being capable of some work so that is why i was moved to WRAG. I mentioned to her multiple times i wasn't moved, I've never left it.
I now have to find out taxi costs to see if they will cover them and also hope they agree phone appointments in future. I suffer from anxiety, depression, social phobia, agorophobia and paranoid a lot.
So i was just wondering if they aren't reasonable in accepting i need a taxi to be reimbursed am i basically stuck having to fork out to get there?
Thanks

To be clear, being placed in the WRAG does not mean that you are capable of some work!
Your advisor has not access to the information about your assessment, so if you have issues that would make it difficult for you to attend then you need to explain these and if they are not taking adequate notice of these then escalate it to their supervisor.
Understand, the advisor has no medical knowledge or worse, they think that they do, so may not be able to understand why you can attend in a taxi and not using Public Transport.
You can certainly claim travel expenses but I'm afraid I can't find anything that covers your using a taxi so I think it may be at the discretion of the advisor.

Hi,
Ive found the cost to get to the appointment and its £7 each way and that is above their maximum of £5 each way so im going to have to pay £4 total per appointment in person.
Im very concerned that she doesn't seem to be very interested i what i was trying to say so i may have to escalate to a supervisor. How do i go about doing such a thing?

First of all try and resolve the matter with your advisor, if that fails then ask to speak to the disability advisor at the JC+, they may be able to act as intermediary, finally ask to speak to their supervisor.
