Hi just wondered if anyone else who has had there pip rate lowered has had it noted in the report that because they drive a manual car I cannot be as bad as I claim. I have among othe r things arthritis and agoraphobia. I only use the car when i really need to go out such as docs appointment. About half a mile away. I cannot use public transport or walk. On the appeal they have said if my functioning was as affected as I claimed i would be a danger and there is no evidence to suggest the dvla have been notified. worried sick now that they will inform them and take away my licence, the car is my lifelline. i

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
It's a fairly standard comment. The DWP say a lot of things in their submission to an appeal, don't assume the appeal panel will pay it too much attention. However, be prepared to explain how you do manage to drive with your conditions.

If you have osteoarthritis, as I have, you only need to notify the DVLA if you drive an adapted car. I had to find this out for my insurance policy.

I would still explain in your submission for the appeal.

Ok I have sent everthing bvack to the courts and received pa[erwork, lots of it. Should I send aletter explaining it or do you think it's best left alone. The trouble with not being able to go to the appeal is that you cannot answer anything. Trying to see a
doctor so I can get a letter that might explain my condition. Having agoraphobia is a vicious circle they want doctors reports etc but I cannot attend these things. thanks
