Is it unheard of for someone to request a private self funded face to face ATOS report, which can then help with an Appeal tribunal?
The original ATOS assessor did a paper based review, and its clear they did not read the medical report nor my carer's report. The decision maker just copied and pasted everything the ATOS assessor said.
Anyone done this before or is there something similar that can be done for those willing to pay? Even a private doctors report? How do I go about getting that?
I'm really trying to find good sources of evidence to present to Tribunal. Already got a letter from GP, Consultant and carer. Also got ESA assessors reports which include useful information.
In general terms we have seen members use private medical reports to help with their claims.
Specifically for PIP, remember the assessment is not a medical report it is a functional report on your ability to complete each of the PIP activities, so the first question to ask yourself is where will you find someone capable of producing a suitable report.
Secondly; will you get value for money going down this route. I realise that this is not what you are talking about but many members have reported disappointment in the reports produced by their GP despite their paying for the report to be produced.
