Hi, My GP has agreed to write a letter for my MR about daily living. Is it OK if I include this?
"If a descriptor applies at ANY point during the day (except momentarily) it is considered to apply for the WHOLE day. Eg if unable to dress in the morning this means unable to dress for the whole day." I think this is correct but just want to check,
It's perfectly OK to send the GP letter as part of your MR.
The rule for a Descriptor is actually more complicated than this and will depend on the activity and the actual limitation.
As an example, if you suffer from severe pain first thing in the morning that restricts your activities and which is not relieved by you pain killers for several hours, then you can argue that you are unable to wash and dress and as these are activities that would you would reasonably have to do at the start of the day that you are then unable to do them for the whole day.
However, this argument would may not work for cooking a meal as you could do this later in the day when your pain killers have worked.
At the other extreme. the guidance for the Going Out activity is that is you can go out at any time then you don't meet the criteria.
So you need to make your arguments specifically for each activity.
