Hi my son is 26 has Down syndrome with profound learning disabilities and has been on esa since the age of 20, I have just received another work capability assessment, I was under the impression that when someone has already been assessed with a life long disability they wouldn’t have to be reassessed again. Can you shed some light on this for me please.

It may be that he would meet the criteria for not being required to be assessed again, as his conditions would be life long, but this can only be determined by a further assessment, they are not making this decision on historical information.
