I had my ESA WCA on Saturday in a freezing cold Shrewsbury Office at 10am. The interviewer kept the interview to the point and gave me little opportunity to explain any detail. Basically filling in a form on her computer. I'm not hopeful of being put in the Support Group but we'll have to wait to see. By contrast, my wife's PIP Assessment was friendly and welcoming with a pleasant lady who allowed time for her to explain her conditions. She gave the impression that she had read my wife's form beforehand and understood her conditions. She said she shouldn't say but she thinks my wife will qualify unless the DWP are having a bad day.... She explained the appeal process if unsuccessful and the reassessment timescale if she is successful. Decision in about 4 weeks. Now the waiting begins. Thanks Benefits and Work for your guidance so far which has made the process infinitely more bearable and a positive outcome more likely.
