Hi I was reading your document Understanding Employment and Support Allowance (Pre-January 2013 Changes) can you tell me I was put into the wrag group on regulation 29 with no schedule 3 descriptors but on reading this would I have been put in the support group with Limited capability for work, physical disabilities assessment 1. Mobilising unaided by another person with or without a walking stick, manual wheelchair or other aid if such aid can reasonably be used. (a) Cannot either (i) mobilise more than 50 meters on level ground without stopping in order to avoid significant discomfort or exhaustion or (ii) repeatedly mobilise 50 meters within a reasonable timescale because of significant discomfort or exhaustion. 15 points as I have higher rate mobilility.
Sorry for the old questions but the DWP are rebuilding my case at the moment
I assume you mean DLA or PIP Mobility. The criteria for these is different than that for ESA. DLA and PIP are walking tests, however, ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking, it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.
