We are going to have to ask to change the date of the assessment but my worry is if they give a date that clashes.

Do you know roughly how long it is until they give you a new date to attend? 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month?

Make the new appointment when you ring to cancel the current one. They won't book more than three weeks from the date you call. You can only move the appointment once.
