Being in the SG does not prevent a migration to UC, it is the type of ESA that will determine this. So at some time in the future, no sooner than the end of this year but likely longer, claimants receiving Income Related ESA will be transferred to UC with Transitional Protection of their then current payments.
As of 16 January, you cannot be required to claim UC if you are receiving the SD Premium, this will be adjusted by the legislation that will cover the migration.
