I opened my ESA50 letter with only 2 days to go was created by tcpaulh
I've been avoiding opening mail. I've just opened my ESA review / Health assessment / ESA50 letter to find I have until 27th of February (2 days) to send it in.
I guess that's the date it needs to arrive so I'll probably have to complete it today(?) unless there's a way I can get an extension or something without risking my ESA payments?
So, I've joined the forum and will do whatever it takes. I'm in the support group (income related) for ESA and have been for many years after transferring from IB.
I am bipolar and also diagnosed with Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). I have a psychiatrist who I see every six months or so.
Whats my best course of action under the circumsrtances? I will of course provide any information here that may be of use.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
There is no extension available for completing the ESA50, my best advice is to complete the form as you can to return it by the required date and return it with a covering letter that you will provide additional information as soon as you can.
This can be done in a letter, I would stick to the same format as the form or you can download an ESA50 and send it in as a replacement.

In either case, use our ESA Claim guides to help you complete the form.

Thanks Gordon.
Using your guides I've been at this literally all day.
Can I complete any of the physical functions questions 1-10 if my mental health affects my ability to perform the tasks?
Advice on this very much appreciated.

You can only score points in the physical section, questions 1-10, if the underlying cause of the problem is a physical one and vice versa for the mental questions.

I posted the completed ESA50 yesterday 26th Feb by 1st class recorded delivery. The covering letter it came with says it must be returned "no later than 27th Feb"
The problem is, it still hasn't been delivered.
What should I do? Thanks

I don't think it will be an issue but call the DWP office dealing with your claim to tell them that you have posted it.
