Here we go again!!! was created by Sully32
I recieved the ESA reasessment from wich I returned with all the information requested and more.
Today I recieved a letter from maximus to say I have got to attend a medical☹
My question is with my pip ftf I had both carried out at home,I read somewhere that if you require a home assesment with maximus you have got to have a doctors letter?
I rang my doctors this morning but was told they do not do letters I even offered to pay but they said no.
So could you confirm if this is the case thanks in advance.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Realistically you are not going to get a home assessment now without a letter from your GP stating in unambiguous terms why you cannot attend at Maximus's offices. It's worth speaking to your GP surgery again, Maximus is not going to contact them for a letter.

Hi Gordon took your advice I rang my doctors and managed to speak to a different doctor who agreed to writing a letter for a fee.
My son rang maximus and the lady gave him a fax number to send the letter over to them, so fingers crossed I will get a home assesment.
Could I ask in between the date of the form being returned and the appointment letter being recieved ,I had results of my latest xray's wich has actioned a referral to a specialists,so will I have to give this to the person carrying out my assesment as it does have a bearing on the descriptors to remain in the support group thanks in advance

Don't send the x-rays but if you have a letter explaining what they show then send that.

Don't have a letter just the xray results and an explanation from doctor wont be able to get letter until I have my referral appointment.
But is it still worth showing the assessor?

It's up to you but it is unlikely that most of the assessors would be able to interpret the results, I guess the bottom line is that you have nothing to lose.
