PIP Tribunal was created by gracey
Hi My husband was in receipt of PIP enhanced rate but following a home assessment this was ceased and he scored 0 point. I have just received the decision on my husbands PIP Mandatory Appeal today - refused. He is Bipolar and scored 0 point on all descriptors. Feeling very deflated and don't know where to go from here a tribunal is so daunting and I don't know what else we can add to help. Unable to get help from Citizens advice as they only help if we asked them to complete the review in September. I have no idea how long it takes to get to a tribunal (we live in Scotland).

You have two options, you can actually pursue both but I wouldn't without a full understanding of the implications.
- You can make a new claim for PIP, there is no waiting time.
- You can request an appeal of the current Decision.
In either case, you will need to address the issues that have resulted in your husband not scoring.
The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
