I have been awarded my pip at the tribunal 14Jan with an additional adult severe disability element backdated to feb 18. As I had waited so long for my pip tribunal I was advised to claim universal credit, as my tax credits had stopped pending the outcome of the tribunal. Apparently my tax credits had not closed merely paused.... My question is can I continue with tax credits as I should not have been advised to claim UC... I have had 3 payments from UC. Nobody comes back to me on UC I wait days for a reply and I am given contradictory information... is there anyone on here who could advise me. I have rung WTC twice today and been told once I have to stay on UC and once I was told I can cancel UC and stay on WTC ...when I rang a third time I was told the dept I need to speak to will call at some point within 4 days ....I’m so confused. No one is coming back to me on my UC journal. Also how do I find out how my UC payment is worked out ?? Any help would be appreciated....
If you have been receiving Universal Credit for three months then you cannot return to Tax Credits, however, if now eligible these should be payable as part of your UC.
The easiest way to check your payments is to put your information as it now into one of the online benefit calculators.
