TO PIP OR NOT TO PIP??? was created by ELE1
Hi,
I have a question and would appreciate any advice. I have just been assessed for ESA, have been in the WRAG for many years. my health has deteriorated and I am now in the support group as of yesterday.
My query is regarding PIP. I feel that I need extra help and I am being encouraged to claim PIP.
Would this in any way effect the ESA/support group payments I have just been awarded?
Would this be classed as a change in circumstances if I did succeed in a PIP application. I would really like to know how best to progress from this point as I continue to struggle financially and due to my condition I do think I should apply.
Can you advise

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Have you looked at our PIP Claim to see whether you would receive an award or not?

There's no reason why your claiming PIP should have a negative effect on your ESA claim, in fact, it might even result in your receiving more money.

Thanks for that advice. I have applied for a PIP assessment form in the past, taken one look at it and found it too daunting to fill in.
Now I have access to your guides I will certainly give it another go.
Many thanks
