about to send in esa 50 form was created by magpiejoe08
hello I am ready to post my esa 50 form off on Monday 11th march, the c.a.b. helped me fill it in. when it came to the moving around and using steps section, they said, (for reference) that I scored 8pts in a pip medical in may 2018. i'm not sure if I should leave that in (as I read somewhere that you have to be careful what you write about other awards as they could impact on the one you are currently claiming) also on the esa 50 form it states they don't need to see letters about other benefits. I know they say that the 2 medicals are totally different, but it is niggling at me.what do you think would be my best course of action? thank you.

If the eight points you scored on your PIP award were for Moving Around then it will help with your ESA assessment, I don't see why your doing so would have any impact back on your PIP award but understand that the ESA test is not just about you walking, your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair will also be considered.

thank you Gordon. on my pip medical I stated that due to my stage 3 vibration white finger I was unable to propel a wheel chair or use a walking stick, I have put the same answer in my esa 50. I think the reason I was concerned about the impact that one medical may have on another, is in case you may contradict yourself by accident. I also have my hcp report from a previous esa50 medical and it states that my condition is unlikely to improve in the longer term, I was wondering if I should mention that. I am sending the esa50 back tomorrow.

Yes, I would include the section of the previous ESA85 that said this.

thank you I have added the esa50 decision sheet to the current esa50 questionnaire, all that is written on it is. prognosis, I advise that a return to work is unlikely for at least 2 years. the reason for opinion given, the available evidence suggests improvement unlikely in the longer term. it has the hcp's name and the date is september 2012, that was the last time I had a esa50 medical.

If the report is from 2012 then it may no carry much weight but I would still include it.
