PIP Tribunal was created by Vincent Bowes
Hello My name is Vince. I have gotten to the stage where I'm at my wits end with my PIP claim. I was on DLA Higher rate for over 5 years and had to move over to PIP. I had help from the Citizens Advice but still managed to get awarded standard rate PIP so now will lose my mobility car, my lifeline. My Manual Reconsideration came back still as standard despite my GP writing a strong letter which was included with my evidence. I am so grateful that I was awarded standard but as my mobility is very limited the mobility car was my lifeline.
I came across this site and felt I should come and ask advice on what I should do to prepare myself for the tribunal. I am awaiting the date letter and want to be prepared for it with enough evidence, either to take with me if they accept that or to email or post to them with my case number.
Any help is appreciated immensely

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
What did you score for the Mobility activities? Which Descriptors and for which of the two activities?
The PIP tests are stricter than the DLA ones so there is no direct equivalency between the awards.
The next stage to the process is for you to request an appeal, our PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
