A new diagnosis
It's a nice year story, back in 2010, My Husband was called to a DWP medical to be assessed for ESA grouping, we sat there for a while were called in and a young nurse said "sorry can`t do you Medical because of your Parkinson diseases"A doctor needs to do it" we looked at each other and said Pardon, anyway was told to go home. So we then spent the next week or so trying to find out what was going on. Yes, hubby has a load of the symptoms and was prescribed the medication Half Sinemet. so we called our local chemist who we have used for 30 years, who said sorry we thought you know that what hubby had. since November 2010. we then went to see the doctor who said the same yes you have PD.
Anyway long story short we said something to our current doctor a little while ago and she flatly said No you have no sign of PD we just said well we are quite confused now and what's going on he has so many of the symptoms. right, can we please get to the bottom of this so she arranged for hubby to see a specialist this happened Yesterday after test he said well you do not have PD you have a nerve disorder we will get to the bottom of this.
What am I to do now the letters from St Thomas Guys hospital say that he has PD plenty of times the medication confirms it. My hubby is being assessed not to move from DLA he has been on for 15 years could be more, now the DWP might ask our doctor to confirm this that and the other now what are we going to do as I am now worried stupid this just makes us out to be nothing more then liers. we don`t know what he has got yet know the name for it just a movement &pain condection and defiantly Restless leg syndrome.
Mind you don`t matter to us what its called lives still the same just more worrying now
The next step is he now has to have a barrage of test and an MRI head scan I think not sure what that's called
Don`t know what to do next HELP!

Neither DLA nor PIP is awarded because the claimant has a specific condition both are assessed on the limitations that the claimant has as a result of their conditions, so if your husband has the same problems now as he did when he was assessed for DLA then you should explain these on the PIP claim form.
