How long is too long? was created by Meredith
Newbie on here so I apologise if this has been answered before .. I submitted my PIP claim on April 21st and have not heard from them, not even a confirmation that they've received my claim. Is this normal? I rang them last week and they confirmed my claim has been received (and, yes, I sent it recorded so I knew it had got there and been signed for but that's not the point) and it was now "in the system". Still had nothing in writing so I've no idea of timescales. Motability were lovely, I was due to change my car in a couple of weeks, and they've extended my lease for another six months whilst my PIP gets sorted. At the moment I'm wondering if that's going to be long enough. <sigh>

Hi Meredith
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Claimants generally only get an acknowledgment that the DWP have received your form if they have a mobile number for you, in which case a text is sent.
It is hard to give you a clear picture as there are regional variations and members are reporting different timescales and we also hear there are delays in the system. Renewals appear to be taking 10-14 weeks, but it may be longer.
